Prusa Mini Display Box (Control Panel) with HyperPixel 4 touch screen

Summary

This is an alternate Display/Control Panel for the PRUSA Mini that supports a HyperPixel 4 touch screen to the right of the stock LCD. I wanted a high resolution display that would support Octoscreen.

The height of the HyperPixel4 in landscape is almost the same as the height of the original display in portrait so it fits and looks quite nice.

Required parts:

4 M2x10mm countersunk screws.

Instructions:

Print in PETG (PLA would probably work too), 15% infill, 2 perimeter layers and support structures turned on.

Slide the HyperPixel 4 from the side where the stock LCD would go taking note of the screen orientation from the photos. You will need to flex the printed part somewhat to get the LCD to fit under the screw supports. It shouldn't take much effort so be careful not to damage the HyperPixel LCD glass. If you have already installed the 40pin riser on the HyperPixel you'll have to remove it first (be careful as it's super easy to bend the pins).

Pilot all the M2 screws into the floating screw supports on the part and then tighten each screw until it goes into the counterpart on the HyperPixel. Before the screw goes into the LCD, press gently down on the LCD so that it's as flush as possible to the front of the printed part. The position/projection of the LCD when the screw mates with it will be the final position of the LCD.

In my set up the display is connected to a Raspberry Pi 3B+ mounted using this case via a male-female 40 pin ribbon (make sure you triple check the cable orientation so as to short out the display). I preferred a design with a ribbon cable rather than having the Raspberry Pi directly behind the display because of (1) weight and (2) a thinner look.
