This modification effectively addresses z-wobble issues at a cost of $3. To implement it, you'll need two 295mm lengths of 10-24 threaded rod, eight 10-24 hex nuts and washers, two compression springs, and four short vinyl tubing pieces. Additionally, print four 10-24 to M8 adapters and two coupling clamp sets. Slide vinyl tubing onto the stepper shaft and threaded rod, assemble the components into the x carriage support, and secure with nuts. Adjust steps per millimeter to 3023.62 (with 16x microstepping). Before-and-after images demonstrate significant z wobble reduction, from a blue pink panther woman print to a red cylinder print. Ensure parts are manifold by designing in SolidWorks and repairing in Netfabb.
