To improve z-axis rod coupling reliability, a robust coupler with separate clamps for the 3/16th drive rod and motor shaft was developed. This design centers both components without overstretching PLA while allowing easy nut recess adjustments. However, it requires four bolts and nuts instead of two. Adjust settings for metric SAE Prusa Mendel; larger screw holes may be needed for layer thicknesses below 0.4. Trim excess screw after tightening around rods since #6 screws are too long.
