Prusa Inspired x-axis for Huxley

Prusa Inspired x-axis for Huxley

thingiverse

In constructing my Huxley, I discovered that the x-axis was more complex than Prusa's Mendel. Thus, I modified his design to suit Huxley, requiring only two parts instead of 12 for the original x axis (and 10 bearings!). Taking inspiration from MarcusWolschon, I hollowed out most of the components so they can be filled with casting resin. This creation is planned for printing on a Stratysis Dimension FDM printer; I will optimize it further for support-less builds in the future. As of now, it remains unprinted, and I will update with success or failure upon printing. Keep up with my build log at http://strelly3d.blogspot.com. Afterward, I made a slight optimization, reducing the build volume by approximately 7 ccm and hopefully making it printable on a RepRap.
