Prusa I4 Spool Holder
thingiverse
Well, I finally got fed up with having my filament trail up and then down my printer and bounce against the back of the Prusa I4 screen, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a spool holder to resolve both problems. The tolerances are a bit tight on the spool pin, but simply sliding it back and forth a few times should make detaching it much easier. I'm guessing that all I4s have the same dimensions, but if they don't, I apologize in advance. My printer uses 20mm rails. This spool holder is just the right size to set a couple up on top of the printer – perfect for someone who wants to print with super wide spools! Print Settings Printer: Prusa I4 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: Any resolution will do Infill: Not necessary at all Notes: I highly recommend adding a 3mm skirt to the spool pin to ensure it sticks properly. I printed mine with 2mm walls, just to be extra cautious. I've already tried printing one with ABS, but unfortunately, it deformed beyond tolerance – not ideal. PLA seems like a much better choice in this case, so if you can, go for PLA instead.
