Prusa i3v Y-Axis Belt Tensioner
thingiverse
This belt tensioner is designed specifically for the Y-Axis idler on a MakerFarm Prusa i3v printer model. It has been successfully used on my own 10-inch version of the printer but I'm confident it will work seamlessly with other models as well. The assembly process makes use of all the standard mounting hardware that comes with the printer, including M3 screws and nuts, as well as an M5 screw and nut. For a detailed walkthrough, please refer to my YouTube video at http://youtu.be/0K3A8wpP3LI. Disclosure: Due to the limited operational time this component has been subjected to, I advise using it with caution. In case you notice any unusual printer behavior, discontinue use immediately and share your findings in the comments section below. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! Feel free to reach out with any suggestions or recommendations. Thank you, Bob Instructions Print two brackets and attach them in place of the original Y-idler mounting brackets. Then, print the belt tensioner. Slide the tensioner into the bracket slots. Place the belt through the tensioner. Next, insert the M5 screw from the right side through the tensioner and the adjacent bracket, followed by a washer, both bearings, another washer, and finally through the other bracket where you'll secure it with an M5 locknut. Once done, adjust the belt tension, tighten the screw, and ensure the y-axis moves correctly.
