Prusa i3 Z Motor Mount Fix
thingiverse
Here is a replacement for Z motor mount of Prusa i3 MK2/MK2s/mk2.5 and MK3 printers. This fixes the dimensions error on Z axis (issue 49). ### Features * Stronger design * Compatible with MK2, MK2s, MK2.5 and MK3 printers * Fixes issue 49 * Quick removal of Z motor for maintenance is now possible * A tab on the back provides perfect alignment * Dimensions of original Z mounts are optimized for PETG printing material * Z smooth rods remain in a 7mm deep hole instead of 5mm * Selective infill technique adds strength to critical points * M3x12mm screws are used to fix the motor, stronger than the original M3x10mm * STL, STEP and Fusion 360 files are provided for open-source use ### /!\ Warning /!\ 1. Use M3x12mm screws to fix the motor instead of the original M3x10mm. 2. Print settings must be carefully followed due to selective infill inside the part. Check out my Z top fix for a very strong and fine-tuned Z axis: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2552246 ### Changelog v1.0 : Increase rod hole diameter by 0.05mm. v1.1 : Improve print quality inside smooth rod holes, tighten Nema 17 motor slightly. ~~v1.2 : Add tab on back for best alignment with frame (not tested yet, v1.1 still available)~~ That was a bad idea, we cannot guarantee perfectly aligned holes with the border of the frame. Thanks to Josef Prusa and team for their awesome work!
