Prusa i3 Z carriage for M8 lead screw
thingiverse
I didn't care much for the standard threaded rod, and I definitely wasn't a fan of how the nut was secured. So, I decided to swap out the end carriages for an M8 Acme leadscrew and brass nut that's widely available on eBay from multiple sellers. This design also includes a modified tensioner bracket that works seamlessly with a 1/4-20 square head bolt. The bolt is inserted from inside the mechanism, while a hex nut or threaded thumb wheel is added to the outside for easy tension adjustment. *EDIT: 9-6-15* I had to remove the idler bracket due to a dimensional mismatch in the bore of the linear bearing. I'll be uploading a corrected part later tonight, and I apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. *EDIT: 9-14-15* The missing and fixed idler bracket STL file has been added.
