Prusa I3 X carriage with printed bearings
thingiverse
I wanted an all-in-one carriage that was sleek and streamlined, showcasing no wires while covering all my options. This assembly has worked flawlessly for over a year, producing clean prints without any issues. The features include: -No play in any direction, thanks to the LM8UU's wire ties being replaced with a firmer alternative. -Cable chain integration allows for a seamless and organized setup. -Endstop Integration using a reset button from a computer tower provides precise control. -Almost all wires are hidden, creating a clean and clutter-free workspace. -Added LEDs illuminate the print surface, making it easier to work on projects. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa I3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: 15% Notes: When printing the V2 carriage, I used support not touching the build plate. A gap was left in the bearing area to emulate having four bearings, which required support. The bearing fingers can be easily extended to their full length, reducing friction. Make sure to measure the distance between your rods carefully, as this is part of a redesigned X axis that I plan to add to the site. I've kept it similar to the original design for those who prefer not to change the X ends.
