This snap-on endstop holder is quite efficient, which is why I wanted to share my experience. The design allows it to be attached to 8 mm X rods with a standard 45 mm centre-to-centre spacing. You can mount your limit switch in various positions for accurate contact with the X carriage. Adjustment is smooth as it simply slides along the rods. I made two and both fit securely.
