Prusa i3 Wire Supports
thingiverse
Some parts I designed and printed for the i3 mk3s. 1) Wire support for the X Axis stepper motor This adds support for the stepper motor wires since the X axis motor is mobile, i noticed the wires flex more at the base/plug than the rest of the wire. This places the flex into the wire over a longer arc and should help reduce wire breakage over time if its any concern at all. For me this part works as friction fit around the square motor base, if the friction fit is loose the tabs are there as a backup, you can cut them off in the slicer if you don't want them. Place 2 zip ties through the provided holes and secure the wire loom. This works best with the size zip ties that came with the prusa. 2) Extruder wire bundle support The extruder wire harness can collide with 3 printed parts if the wires droop below the nozzle height. 2 m3 hex nuts and 2 bolts complete this assembly. A ~16" piece PETG of filament and a 3rd bolt secure the filament in the holder. A 4th m3 ~20mm bolt in the spool hanger secures the top of the filament to hang. 3) Extruder Pointer This is a tiny pointer about 15cm long that can be used to indicate what the extruder motor is doing. Print only takes about 60 seconds Superglue a 8mm wide x 4mm deep round cylinder magnet, and optionally paint the tip.
