Prusa i3 - Top Bracket - Replacement Piece
thingiverse
I cracked a fragile part of the plexiglass enclosure around my Prusa i3 by over tightening a screw. I designed an exact replica to take its place and even upgraded both to utilize it as a single piece - it functioned incredibly well. I'm sharing my experience in case another person stumbles upon the same issue. The last photo displays the original component that I replaced (the heat tape is holding it together as a temporary fix :p). A crucial note: this new piece is thinner than the original to save on filament usage, so I acquired shorter screws to secure it properly. If you plan on using existing screws, you'll want to adjust the height accordingly. Instructions STL file included, which should be precise enough for successful printing. To guarantee accuracy, I measured every detail with precision calipers. The holes have been enlarged by 0.5mm on all sides to enable most machines to pull it off without issues.
