In a continuous quest to improve the rework, make it more open, and tailor it specifically for my setup, I redesigned the Y-Motor mount. The redesign was created using Solidworks 2014, and both the original version and my revised design are included. To accommodate my bed's unique requirements, I had to raise the heated bed, which featured Boro glass on top and corrugated cardboard underneath, off of the Y plate so that it could be properly leveled. This necessitated replacing all hardware with Stainless steel components since the plain metal M3 hardware was allowing heat to flow freely to what effectively serves as my Y plate heatsink. After making this change, I lifted the bed up by about 5mm, and the aluminum Y plate came off easily. This modification enabled me to level the bed with relative ease thanks to the Boro glass. Moreover, the machine's printing movements helped air to flow underneath, keeping it much cooler as a result of the longer distance for heat to travel and stainless steel's reduced ability to conduct heat. Additionally, I moved the slot in the mount forward by 2mm, allowing my bed to utilize its full Y print area.
