Prusa i3 / Rework Y axis self lubricating bushing holder + video
thingiverse
I've created this thing for my own custom awesome Prusa i3 rework because I got tired of the noise from the LM8UU bearings and the fast PLA bushing wear-out that results in sloppiness. It fits 8mm smooth rods using the bushings linked below, which have regular bolt hole spacing for the bed frame at 30mm apart for use with M3 bolts and nuts. I created this thing in an hour in Autodesk Fusion 360. 10pcs WearResisting SF1 Self Lubricating Bearing Bushing 8mm x 10mm x 12mm http://r.ebay.com/KhYOoP Have a nice day! Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa Z3Dope i3 Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 40% Notes: For strength, use 1.2mm borders (0,4 nozzle = 0,4*3 = 1,2mm side and top and bottom). This way the infill actually doesn't matter much since the borders cover most of the thing. Make sure if you use ABS that you test print and measure the dimensions after printing. So width of this thing is 40mm. If the test print is 39mm wide, the scale for your final print should be set at 40/39=±1,025 . Print speed at around 50mm/s. Too slow and ABS will get burn spots and sags in, too fast and your thing comes out ugly (thin walls/inner holes) Layer height: 0.15 Shell thickness: 1.2 Bottom/top thickness: 1.2 Fill density: 40 Platform adhesion type: Brim (Expert settings: brim lines: 20) How I Designed This How it's designed using Autodesk's Fusion 360. Actual printing of the part, no adjustment needed; the bushings fit perfectly.
