Prusa I3 Rework X-END-IDLER with Solidworks 2014 Source

11/09/2014 - I discovered an error in the screw hole designed to hold the 624zz bearing, which was too small by a surprising 1mm margin. As it turned out, the original was mistakenly sized for a 3mm shaft but should have been specifically tailored for an M4 fitting. Thankfully, this discrepancy has been rectified and corrected versions of these two files are now available. In the absence of source files to work with my reworked I3 model, I'm diligently creating SW source files by hand. Although each component is painstakingly designed from scratch, minor inaccuracies or omitted features might be present due to oversight - nonetheless, I aim to create authentic representations of the original components. Last night's investigation into my printer's X-directional printing revealed an inconsistent print job. Further examination revealed a slightly loose belt. Upon closer inspection, I found that the area surrounding the M3 screw that holds the 624zz bearing in place was cracked and compromised both at its top point and its corresponding nut hole. To provide a temporary solution until more permanent measures can be taken to reinforce this part, I designed and produced this replacement component. I'll continue working on these components using SW 2014 for the time being - my goal is to switch over to 2015 by June so others will have ample opportunity to upgrade before continuing with the source files I've created. This ensures continued access to this essential work regardless of changes in software. Please Note: When printing this part, make sure to opt for a considerable amount of infill - I estimate that around 60% should suffice. Alternatively, keep in mind that a low infill ratio (around 15-25%) may result in a print that is eventually compromised and vulnerable to damage. Infill Settings: * Infill: 60% * Vertical Shells: 4 * Horizontal Top and Bottom Shells: 6
