Prusa i3 Rework X-carriage with additional holes for Wade's extruder
thingiverse
This is a custom adaptation of the Prusa i3 Rework X-carriage by eMotion-Tech (thing #119616) that I have upgraded to feature standard 30mm apart holes for M3 screws and nut traps compatible with Wade's extruders found in various Prusa i3 variants. As a result, this X-carriage now supports not only all extruders designed for the Prusa i3 Rework but also most other extruders built for Prusa i3 models. I have personally tested the four LM8UU linear bearings on this carriage and discovered that they provide even greater stability compared to the usual three bearings found in standard Prusa i3 X-carriages. Furthermore, I am extremely impressed with how well-designed this carriage is - it looks excellent, prints effortlessly, and has perfectly defined teeth for the GT2 belt. What's more, I appreciate the thoughtful inclusion of a small separator between the LM8UU bearings, preventing them from rubbing against each other. My intention is to pair this new X-carriage with the P3Steel version 2.01 variant I am currently assembling in order to achieve higher printing speeds. To build and compile the carriage, you will need to download and install the included OpenSCAD sources and obtain the necessary X-CARRIAGE.stl file from eMotion-Tech. Assembly Instructions To assemble this print, I used PLA with 40% infill and require the following components: four LM8UU linear bearings and eight nylon ties. If you choose to utilize the Wade's extruder holes on your X-carriage, be sure to install two M3 nuts by heating them with a soldering iron and then pushing them into their designated nut traps as shown.
