I finally decided to release this after confirming everything is working beautifully, having spent over a month making sure all is well. My original design still exists on my machine, but I redid many parts where I thought improvements were necessary.\n.\nFirst up was making it beefier since I had to add support in the original version via a crossbeam and some JB Weld at the top due to flex - and you definitely don't want any flex with this. Some things just can't be helped because of the i3 Rework's X carriage setup, especially considering V1 had noticeable flex whereas V2 does not show measurable flex with my ABS plastic. With the addition of new rib structures, the flex was eliminated (and I no longer need a crossbeam or JB Weld).\n.\nNovember 6th, 2014 - A newer version has been added which is easier to slice using Slic3r after finding that some sections were too thin, causing problems for users who utilize this program. Simplify3d did not have this issue, but it has its own problems now since I've stopped using it due to these issues. It's a waste of money.\n\n \n \nInstructions\nAttach supports similar to those shown in the servo mount picture, consisting of 3 vertical shells and 6 top and bottom horizontal shells at 50% infill.\n.\nSecure this by reusing the two original 3mm x 30mm hot end screws (when viewed from front to back, it goes on the left-hand side of the hotend assembly underneath the large gear). Use a standard 9g servo motor mounted on the outside of the motor mount along with its corresponding arm and switch.\n.\nThe items I purchased can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/lnf5npa and http://goo.gl/LwO2G9. Just show these for exact sizing - you can buy wherever is most convenient for you.\n.\nThe small switch requires 2mm x 12mm hex cap screws.\n.\nThe slim part of the servo arm has a functional use in addition to aesthetics, as I route and zip tie the two soldered switch wires here so they won't budge once secure.
