Prusa i3 reinforced Y motor mount
thingiverse
This is a modified version of Xoan's work #85809 which itself was a modified version of Josef Prusa's original Y motor mount for the Prusa i3 using 8mm threaded rods. Three attachment points connect to the NEMA 17 stepper, increasing by one point from two in Josef Prusa's design for the Prusa i3. Any Prusa i3 utilizing 8mm threaded rods will be compatible with this modified part, such as Twelvepro's enhanced version of the Prusa i3. Stress points potentially found in Xoan's design were smoothed and reinforced to increase structural integrity, and minor cleanup adjustments were made to the source code. Proper credit was given to Josef Prusa and Xoan through inclusion of their respective OpenSCAD source files. To print this modified part effectively, use PLA with 35% infill and a 0.6mm wall thickness. A smooth printing experience can be achieved as bridges are non-existent in the design.
