Prusa i3 / P3Steel Improved X-axis Printed Parts Collection
thingiverse
This collection includes the most recent, highest quality designs for printed parts for any Prusa i3 variant, including the P3Steel and the Prusa i3 Twelvepro. These designs range from remixed creations to exact copies found on Thingiverse or GitHub, with some entirely new designs made in OpenSCAD. The X-carriage design is based on an earlier creation (Thing #586636). I also reused an Open Hardware Knurled Knob for belt tension adjustment and a 623ZZ pulley, which are both derived from my previous designs (#600955 and #602435, respectively). Some of these parts still require proper attribution, as noted at http://reprap.org/wiki/Genealogy_/_Archeology_of_the_Prusa_i3_X_Motor_End. Nonetheless, they're all based on Josef Prusa's original GPLV3-licensed designs, with the pulley written from scratch and the knurled knob sourced from other creations here on Thingiverse (credited appropriately). Notably, both the X-carriage and X idler end pulley are specifically designed for GT2 belts. Printing these parts is straightforward. I've successfully printed them in PLA with 40% infill, 0.6mm walls, and top/bottom layers. For the X idler end pulley, use two 623ZZ bearings. The reinforced X carriage requires four LM8UU linear bearings instead of the standard three.
