Prusa i3 Mount for X End-stop [Folger Tech]
thingiverse
After having some frustration with the Folger's mount for my X axis end stop, I successfully designed one that would stay intact even after adjusting or mounting it without scratching on the belt. It utilizes the provided mounting screws, along with a readily available 4x40x3/4" machine screw from Home Depot to connect the two pieces together. Both right and left side versions are included, accommodating different setup requirements. For easier printing, I separated it into front and rear parts. Included OpenSCAD files allow for modification and customization according to your specific needs. To add to the fun, here are step-by-step instructions to build your new X axis end stop mount: No bolts were damaged during the design of this project. As long as you don't over-tighten, the screws thread smoothly into the plastic. If preferred, I might consider including slots for bolts in future updates; please let me know. Before assembly, pre-thread a 4x40x3/4" (or similar 3/4") screw through the front part of the mount, which has one protruding section. It's suggested that you insert this into the rear piece and then remove it for easier subsequent attachment. Place both halves around the X axis rods, loosely securing them with the mounting screws. Position the parts where your X-axis should stop. Firmly screw together, yet avoid over-tightening to prevent damaging the plastic. It's likely that slight adjustments will be needed as the two components twist during assembly. Install your end stop, and you're ready to roll!
