Prusa I3 MMU2/S redesigned filament buffer for 2mm plates
thingiverse
I designed a new filament buffer for my MMU2 that's larger and more stable than the original one supplied. The 1.5mm Pertinax plates were too small and hard to use, so I opted for bigger 2mm transparent acrylic sheets instead. This design also allows for wall mounting, with the filament spools secured above the buffer to prevent any accidental pulls on the filament. My custom-made buffer measures 260mm x 300mm and requires the following hardware: 10 M3 x 45mm screws to secure the plates 10 M3 nuts for attaching the plates 10 M3 x 12mm screws to hold the ptfe tubes in place Before assembling, I recommend using a 4mm drill bit to carefully smooth out the holes for the PTFE tubing. Threading the M3 x 12mm screws into the plastic will make assembly much easier. To avoid leaving fingerprints on the glass plates during assembly, it's best to wear gloves.
