EDIT: 2016-12-27 NEW VERSION HERE: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/original-prusa-i3-mk2-camera-mount-26525 EDIT: 2016-10-08 A sturdy vertical arm with a flat top has been added, along with a top mount for the Logitech C160 webcam. The top will be glued securely to the arm. new test timelapse: https://youtu.be/KiaT0QOFWug EDIT: 2016-07-07 Higher temperatures on the heated bed caused the PLA version to melt, so I recommend using PETG, ABS or similar materials instead. EDIT: 2016-07-01 V2: A major redesign has taken place! This version is less prone to sideways wobbling. Added a test timelapse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwoPSTmSV_c&feature=youtu.be Tired of chaotic time lapses, I decided to attach my camera directly to the build plate for better results. However, the extruder uses the entire plate, so I had to use the frame that holds it in place to secure my camera "arm". I'm still waiting for a long Raspberry Pi Camera cable (1 meter), but I've uploaded a view from the extended arm. The long arm can be disassembled into a shorter one if you print smaller models or prefer a closer perspective. To secure the arms together, use M2 bolts. Also, attach the camera case using M2 bolts and a nut. Print Settings Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: I printed the arm with low infill and the mount + case parts with 100% infill for extra strength when mounting. Supports were added to the "grip's" that hold onto the frame. The recently added Logitech knob for the webcam is printed in 0.1mm layer height and glued onto the "prusa_camera_arm_mount_thicker_with_flat_top.stl" Post-Printing Assembly: Use either the short arm or the long arm, depending on your preferred perspective. The camera case mounts are glued into place, but be careful when assembling them to avoid damage. A longer arm may cause more vibrations, though. I ordered a long camera cable from this website: http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Raspberry-Pi-Camera-1m-FRC-Flexible-Round-Cable-1xFFC-Kit-pi-cables-/111366510311?hash=item19edf616e7:g:paMAAOxy9X5TZMj- Test timelapse
