Prusa i3 MK3S Steel Sheet Holder (For under tables)

prusaprinters

Prusa i3 spare steel sheet holder. This works with all of the recent prusa i3 printers, as they all have the same sized bed. This does NOT work for the Prusa Mini due to the smaller bed size. Please see the bottom of this description for a link to a Mini remix. (Thanks D1ngsbums!) These are 2 separate parts, left and right. I put mine under my Ikea Lack table, but just about any bottom side of a table or desk will do. This is only meant to be mounted under something and mounted flat, not to the side (vertically). This is tall enough to fit about 7 sheets and even more depending on the thickness of the tape if not screwed in. There are no spacers between sheets because I did not feel that they were necessary here.

SCALE TO 1000% WHEN SLICING. Drawn in mm instead of cm.

To install:

I found it difficult to mount to the bottom of my table with screws so there are a few options. The easiest would be to use 4 command strips or mounting tape and press it on while upside-down. The parts do have 2 holes each for wood screws, but it may be difficult to hold the parts and screw. You can always flip the table over and attach it that way. Put the sheet between the holders and then mount to make sure it fits properly. It also helps to have the sheet overhang the edge of the table a little to make for easier access and visibility when placing.

Recommended installation method:

The best way to install would be to get mounting tape and place the holders and the sheet where you want it and let it stay there. Then you can use screws without having to hold the whole assembly or flipping the table over. If wanted, you can then remove the whole assembly and take the mounting tape off, then screw each piece back in easily, due to the screw holes already being in the correct mounting position.

Parts needed:

1 Left holder (SCALED TO 1000%)
1 Right holder (SCALED TO 1000%)
4 5x20mm wood screws OR 4 command strips / mounting tape

(Command strips can be any size, I used the smallest size and has a strong bond to my lack table. Later secured with screws from the recommended installation method.)

Print instructions

Category: 3D Printer Accessories Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: I3 MK3S

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Notes:

Both parts fit on the bed (Prusa i3) when rotated to point to the side.
