Prusa i3 MK3S Spool Holder Bearings
thingiverse
I've designed two custom bearings that can be easily slid onto the stock i3 MK3S spool holder, which has proven to be less than ideal in its current design. These bearings are specifically tailored for use with 750-gram ColorFabb spools and the silver PLA spools shipped by Prusa with their printers (all of which I believe weigh in at 750 grams). The tolerances on these custom bearings are incredibly tight, coming in at ±0.15mm, so make sure that your printer is capable of producing such precise prints before attempting to use them. I successfully printed mine using Dutch Orange PLA from ColorFabb and the stock PLA/PHA profile in PrusaSlicer at a layer height of 0.2mm without encountering any issues. In most cases, you'll need to "loosen" the rollers by trying to gently pry them apart after printing is complete. Once every roller has been freed up, you should be able to feel the bearing spinning freely. It won't cost you anything extra, but it will help me out significantly.
