09/06/19 News: A New Bondtech Extruder Variant Hits the Scene! Get ready to upgrade your 3D printing experience with a brand-new variant designed specifically for use with the Bondtech extruder. Check it out on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3681220. This latest creation builds upon an existing design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3129921) tailored for the MK3S R4 extruder, paired with the MK3 optical sensor and corresponding MK3 firmware. A key innovation in this variant is the simplified attachment of the modified filament sensor housing to the MK3S-R4 extruder using a single M2x12mm screw. The lower portion of the housing should be printed with supports and an optional brim, as shown in the accompanying image. For added precision, you can smooth out the PTFE filament channel with a 4mm drill bit. As before, this upgrade doesn't require any firmware or extruder modifications – just install it and go! To further enhance your printing experience, I've also included three extruder covers that might prove handy in various applications: * A cover for MMU2S with M6 threads, designed for threaded push-fit installation. * Another cover with M6 threads, but without the IR-Sensor housing – perfect for those who prefer a more streamlined design. * And finally, a cover without threads, ideal for direct filament insertion. No comments needed – just enjoy the upgrade!
