Prusa i3 MK3 Y axis mount sintered bronze bearings 8x15x15
thingiverse
After upgrading my self-built Prusa i3 with an MK52 heatbed, I required an alternative bearing mount due to the reduced distance between drilling holes. First, I attempted Scarou's design using standard LM8UU bearings. Unfortunately, the limiters on the rods pushed the bearings out of the mount - for instance, during the self-test of the MK3 firmware and after some homings. This issue arose from my PK8 frame with longer Y-rods and a higher bed position compared to the original Prusa i3 MK3, not due to a flawed design by Scarou. He created an excellent job, and I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for his efforts! To prevent the finally used sintered bronze bearings (8x15x15) from being pushed out of the mount by the rod limiters, I added two small steps with a 15 mm distance. This keeps the sintered bronze bearing securely in place.
