Prusa i3 Mk3 Toolboxes

Since I built the Prusa, it felt like it had real potential on both sides to add some storage space for the tools you need when printing models. jgm1986's flat cable clip was the starting point I needed, as I imagined the 2020 alu profile of the printer's base would be a great fixing point for my boxes without needing screws or metal clips. I wanted the boxes to be modular and expandable, so halfway through, there are some notches that let you put on a second level or a lid. In my case, I already designed an inlay for storing Superglue, misc. small parts, and some nozzles (Remix from StasPimenov; if it doesn't fit: sand the edges slightly). Integrating a remix of Lalo_Solo's USB/SD card holder seemed logical, allowing just enough space on the left side to remove the printer's SD-card. The right box has a holder for a caliper on the side. One thing you need to keep in mind is that the storage room resides partly under the moving printing bed. So don't overfill the boxes and don't use them to store high USB keys. The boxes snap into place. The best way to do this is put the side of the box on the printer's side first, then pull the hook on the other side so it grabs the outer edge of the box. I made two types of hooks. The difference lies in the position of the foot. Normally spoken, you should use the hooks with the foot at the end of the hook, but as you can see from one of the pictures, my printer is standing close to the edge of the desk. So I made a second version where the foot is somewhere at the middle of the hook. Those also make it easier to fix the box into place but give a bit less support.
