FourOhFour has remixed the main base, cutting out space for vent slots. This appears to be an improvement, but I haven't printed it yet, so results may vary. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2814343 Fixed version complete. Changes: - brace_v2.stl 1) Angled bracket pulled back to avoid interference with the bed frame. Mounted and verified fit. 2) Mounting holes modified into slots, providing flexibility while maintaining stiffness without torquing the frame. - brace_base_v2.scad Updated to generate brace_v2. Other components remain unchanged. Note: Since I haven't built a new wiring harness yet, I'm using the PSU holder and brace independently. The PSU holder has been previously verified to mount on the base, but the latest print hasn't been tested yet. This is an adapter for MeanWell 350W PSUs to fit Prusa i3 mk3 models. Four components: - Main brace - PSU holder - Bottom plate for the PSU holder - Small spacer disk for placing between the top of the PSU and the brace Designed to work with original plug/fuse/power-panic assembly and power switch. Note that due to increased height and rightward position, the original PSU wiring harness won't reach the Einsy. You'll need to create your own harness (I'm using 14 gauge wire with crimp connectors, leaving power-panic unconnected for now). Printed in PETG with 30% infill, resulting in a solid piece requiring minimal support. All components can be tweaked and reproduced from the SCAD file by setting one of the four parameters at the top to "true" while setting others to "false": create_base = false; create_brace = false; create_bottom_plate = true; create_spacer = false; Copied from a comment: Mean Well NES-350-24 24V 350 Watt UL Switching Power Supply 120 Volt https://www.amazon.com/Mean-NES-350-24-Switching-Power-Supply/dp/B00KTJE3L4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1518387356&sr=1-1&keywords=Mean+Well+NES-350-24+24V+350+Watt+UL+Switching+Power+Supply+120+Volt http://www.meanwell.com/productPdf.aspx?i=457 Why I'm not using the stock PSU: My original PSU failed after a month (blew fuse, wouldn't work with replacement fuse), forcing me to replace it. Replacement took a week and I needed to keep printing. Replacement PSU never worked (would randomly drop to zero volts when heated bed kicked in), so I went back to my MeanWell PSU. I'm now trying my third Prusa PSU, but I plan to use the MeanWell as my primary PSU and keep the Prusa as a backup. Upsides of using the MeanWell: - More confidence it won't die during a print - No annoying clicking when the bed is at temperature like the Prusa PSU - No really annoying rattling of the heat-shield (or having to stick a zip-tie in to stop it) Downsides of the MeanWell: - Fan runs periodically - Doesn't fit original case. In the end, I'll probably mount the MeanWell PSU under my bench and run 24V and a switch up to the Prusa. When I have the case/brace printed for that, I'll post it.
