Prusa i3 MK3 LCD Supports for reduced footprint in Ikea Lack enclosure
thingiverse
These are shortened LCD supports for the Original Prusa i3 Mk3 that tuck in the LCD display panel by eleven millimeters. The reduced footprint gives you a tiny bit more room in tight enclosures, allowing for improved airflow and easier access to internal components. I aimed to create a solution that is easy to implement, focusing on shaving off a little bit from the front of the printer rather than tackling the complex task of designing angled heatbed cable covers. Note that the heatbed now extends past the LCD panel by a couple millimeters, reducing the overall savings to around 9-10 millimeters. However, you will still gain additional space at the tabletop where doorstops are mounted, providing more room for cables and other accessories. For those who value precision like me, this modification offers a practical solution that still allows access to both y-axis belt tensioning screws. You'll need a ball-end allen wrench to adjust these screws, but I've included a picture in the upload showing the process.
