Prusa i3 mk3 lcd sidemount
thingiverse
I have not a lot of space for the printer, and because the filament needed to be mounted on the left side, it would be better to place the printer also turned 90 degrees. Because the lcd screen was then very hard to use, i designed a mounting bracket to mount it sideways, and still be able to insert the sd card. I'm also planning to install an on/off switch on the front of the printer (done also with my Ender 3pro, just in the flat front under the lcd screen.) That is so mutch easier to use!! So there is also the hole for that. Wanted to keep it clean without seeing screws, so its closed and flat on the top. But it can also be changed into a storage space. Installation: Remove te 4 screws that holds the compete lcd unit, Then remove the frontplate of the frame. Use the 4 original screws of the lcd to mount it on the new part. (you can use the 6mm holes for your Allen key to reach the m3 bolds eassier) Use 3 new m6 bolds and 3030 nuts to slide it from the original front into the 3030 extrusion. Then fasten the m6 bolds from the underside, and ïnstall the original frontplate back into its place.
