Prusa i3 MK3 Igus RJ4JP y-axis adapter
thingiverse
Using Igus RJ4JP bearings on the y-axis for the MK3 reduces noise significantly, but introduces some issues. If you over-tighten the U-bolts to prevent the bearings from shifting, they deform and make travel more challenging. To resolve this, you loosen the U-bolts just enough to allow them to slide freely. However, since the slot is longer than the bearing itself, it continues to move. This custom solution addresses that problem effectively. Print the piece using a 0.1mm layer height, and the bearings will no longer shift around. The design fits snugly, so if your bearings don't fit perfectly, simply trim off a small amount of plastic with a sharp hobby knife until they fit securely. Keep in mind that the holder may rub against your tie wraps, reducing y-axis travel by a few millimeters on both ends. Despite this, my printer still passes all self-tests successfully. I'm confident that this solution will work well for you too, as it has been functioning flawlessly for me over the past couple of months.
