Prusa i3 MK3 Dust Cover Support
thingiverse
As summer arrives in North America, many of us print less than we do during colder months. Some of us cannot bear the thought of leaving our printer exposed and collecting dust when not in use. Here's my solution. The cover I used is available at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EW4EWP8. It's just the right size, and with my support underneath it, stays firmly in place, barely touching the desk below and remaining flat on top. Waterproof and anti-static too. The assembled mechanism may appear bulky, but its height is perfect for the cover linked above. The frame mounting slot is slightly loose to prevent scratching the frame. Once installed, a paint can could fall on top of it and simply bounce off - an added benefit. The arms sit snugly in the keyholes, not too tightly, making it easy to disassemble for storage. Please do not imagine this as a cheap or easy enclosure. The hub will interfere with the extruder, and I don't think it's safe for that application anyway. Perhaps one of you will remix this design to make it more elegant, but it works just fine for me!
