Prusa i3 MK3 60 Degree Heatbed Cable Cover (PLUS)
thingiverse
A remix of this very helpful 60 degree cable cover by OakMountain: "This cover changes the orientation of the heatbed cable 60 deg clockwise to allow the printer to fit in an IKEA LACK cabinet (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2864118). It reduces the depth of the printer by about 25mm." I found a few alternate versions of this, but none did everything I wanted - solving the issues with OakMountain's version which I found a bit too difficult to get the cables crammed into. So my PLUS version of the 60 degree cable cover has 3x main improvements: -Added a 4th bolt hole, this fixes the bottom plate being pushed out of alignment, and leads to a very secure build and clean join between parts -Increased the volume inside the cover, which really helped cram those cables in, the previous version just didnt have enough space to do this with any kind of comfort, and I felt it was crushing the cables (a problem which this custom upgrade is meant to be solving). It still takes some effort, and you will likely need to undo and reposition the clips, but see the underneath picture provided for an idea of how the clips should be angled. This should fit a lot nicer with just that few mm of extra tolerance. -Boosted the top and bottom wall thickness, to add more strength overall but also make sure the extra volume doesnt compromise the strength of the model. Makes it a little bit more bulky, but looks great to me. Uses the same screws as the original cover, but you'll need to grab 1x extra for the 4th screw addition (there should be extra included from your original build/purchase): M3x10 screw (4x!) M3n nut (4x!) Print in PETG for maximum quality. I printed with honeycomb infill for extra strength, 40% infill which is pretty overkill. Dial it up higher if you want a crazy robust part, but 20% on this part is even pretty reasonable. This version is great for LACK enclosures, or any enclosures where you want to stop your heatbed cable hitting the back wall when printing right at the far edge of the headbed. This will gradually ruin your cables (and cause the printer to fail and develop faults). Hope it helps!
