Prusa i3 MK2S X-axis adjustable idler
thingiverse
I've had reports of the x-axis belt getting worn out by the x-axis idler pulley on my Prusa i3 MK2s printer. It happened to me too! After searching for a decent solution, I couldn't find one that fit my needs. So, I decided to remix the Prusa x-axis idler myself. I wanted something that would work without using any unusual metric nuts and bolts since there aren't any good hardware stores nearby. Luckily, Prusa ships a box of spare parts with every purchase, including two long bolts and two self-locking nuts. I used these to create a modified x-axis idler pulley that works perfectly for me. By slowly adjusting the bolts in and out, you can shift the x-axis idler pulley just enough to reduce or eliminate the black dust that used to be on my belt. I printed mine in white ABS to ensure any dust would be visible. So far, it's been working great!
