Prusa i3 MK2 Y carriage printable bed
thingiverse
This is a fully printable Y carriage plate for mounting your heated bed. I adapted the Prusa i3 MK2 dxf file, modifying it so that you can bolt on the arms to make this a fully printed part rather than having to rely on cutting one out of wood or having one laser cut or machined for you. It is 10mm thick, with legs that fit in slots only one direction each, preventing mix-ups and securing them with 3mm screws. I printed mine with cubic infill for added rigidity, resulting in a very solid piece once complete.\r\n\r\nI modified this version to use four lm8uu bearings instead of the three called for in the plans. If you want to revert to a three-bearing design, I've included the sketchup file as reference. Future improvements may include making it thinner for reduced weight; currently, it weighs about 159 grams. This plate can be printed on a standard 200mm square build plate.\r\n\r\nAdditional 3mm holes provide extra options for zip ties or screws to secure bearings and blocks. Some users prefer blocks, so I've given you plenty of options to tie everything down however you see fit.\r\n\r\nI may return to add lm8uu bearing brackets in the future if there's interest.
