The Prusa i3 MK2/S is a fantastic printer, but the filament spool holder could be improved significantly. To address this issue, I redesigned the original to accommodate multiple spools of filament instead of just taps. One of the key improvements is the ability to support tubes rather than tabs for holding filament spools - allowing for more than one spool at a time. Another upgrade is the easy attachment system using ClipOn, similar to the Prusa i3 MK2/S/3 Filament Guide ClipOn. The new design also includes storage holes for unused filaments, keeping them organized and out of the way. For this redesign, I used standard electrical 20mm PVC tube that fits snugly into the holder - a simple yet effective solution. If you prefer the original tab-based style, don't worry - I've included models for that too, with no need for tubes at all. To make things even easier, both left and right holders are identical, so just print two of them to have a complete setup. If you require another tube size, simply leave a comment and I'll upload the model for that size as well. This new design is based on the open-source files from GitHub for the Original Prusa i3 MK2. Update: I've added support for 22mm OD tubes to give users more flexibility with their filament sizes. Additionally, I've included holders for M8 Threaded Rods - another common requirement in many 3D printing setups. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 25% triangle Notes: For the best results, use PET-G as your preferred material - PLA can also be used, but ABS may experience corner warping problems due to the design size. To achieve the desired print quality, I recommend using a 0.2mm layer height, 2 perimeters, and 25% infill (triangle) with 2 bottom layers and 3 top layers.
