I made a remix of the original Prusa i3 MK2 extruder cover because I was getting fed up with it melting. To fix this, I added more clearance near the heatblock - an extra 2mm of space to breathe. At the same time, I thickened the area where the fan shroud is mounted to give it a bit more stability. The results are impressive: I've been printing PETG non-stop without any issues whatsoever. Not once have I noticed a burn mark on my extruder cover or seen the fan shroud droop out of place.
