Prusa i3 MK2 MK2S Vibration Damper Feet with foam
thingiverse
As my Prusa was extremely loud in its original configuration, I experimented with numerous dampers. The fully printed dampers commonly found on Thingiverse for nearly every printer proved ineffective (it only amplified the vibrations during printing!) so I decided to create new feet. While working on my desktop PC, I noticed that the vibration dampers installed were purchased from Amazon and this sparked the idea for these "new" feet designs at a total cost of about 6-8€. The link to the foam dampers on Amazon Germany is https://www.amazon.de/Unbekannt-ZUB-1017-PC-Geh%C3%A4use-Entkopplung-Schaumstoff/dp/B000WBI2SE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1546421231&sr=8-1&keywords=PC-Geh%C3%A4use+Entkopplung%2C+Standf%C3%BCsse%2C+Schaumstoff The foam dampers on Amazon feature a "hexagonal" design, but unfortunately, they are only available in circular shapes with Ø60 diameters. Initially, I designed everything for the hexagonal 55mm design, but later modified it to Ø60. Both designs are included. My initial prints were exceptionally good using these feet, as they can securely hold onto the M10 rod without any assistance and can be easily fixed with cable ties. I hope you find this suitable, please let me know if there are any issues!
