If you've watched my YouTube channel's review of the Prusa i3 MK2 build, check it out at https://youtu.be/CtcQbB6cM5I. You'll know that I discuss how to reduce noise during printing with IGUS dryline bearings. However, I also mention that using tie-wraps to secure these to the build platform is a bad idea due to minor movement and a more secure method is needed. To improve this, simply download the IGUS Dryline RJ4JP-01-08 bearing adapter and install it normally. You'll need: 3x IGUS Adapters 6x Square Nut M3nS (5.4 x 5.4mm) 6x M3 x 10 dome head screws Print Specifications: I used Cura 2.3.0, and the settings that worked well for me are: Material: PLA Highest quality print with a 0.06mm layer height Top/Bottom layer: 8 high 50% infill Z-Axis retraction is also enabled to reduce stringing. Note: On the side with two bearings on the bed plate, it's essential to ensure that the recessed part of the bracket faces outward. If not, this will interfere with the blocks either side of the printer and prevent them from reaching the end-stops. (See pic for reference) Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.06 Infill: 50% Notes: Print the model on the bed upside down, with the two square holes facing up, and turn on support as this print works better in this orientation. Post-Printing: Remove support and ensure that the mating surface of the adapter to the heated bed is flat and free from filament debris or stringing. How I Designed This: I used Autodesk Inventor 17.
