Proto-Pasta spools stand out for their narrow dimensions, similar to those of other brands, which often result from lower production volumes. This design solution effectively addresses a common issue where spool holders inadvertently release during printing, causing chaos and printer downtime. The revised holder boasts enhanced structural integrity, easily accommodating heavier spools with confidence. Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 mk2 Rafts: Irrelevant Supports: None Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: Minimum 30% triangular Notes: For accurate scaling purposes, the maximum object size is limited to 173.254 mm. To ensure a flexible and less brittle print, it's recommended to use a rather flexible PLA material. When printing, consider using 65% outline overlap to securely attach the cylinders to the vertical holder. Design Inspiration: During a recent print project, I experienced firsthand the frustration of watching a spool fall from its holder, causing printer malfunction. This incident prompted me to redesign the holder, extending its cylinders to securely accommodate narrow spools and prevent similar mishaps in the future.
