Prusa i3 MK2 Extruder - Easy hotend access
thingiverse
The Prusa i3 MK2 extruder is a sleek and compact design. However, swapping out the nozzle requires disassembling many of its parts and removing at least seven screws. I've made some key changes to the original design, combining the part fan and fan nozzle into one unit that can be easily detached by removing just two screws. This makes it simple to inspect, clean or replace the nozzle and hot-end. The redesigned extruder fits all MK2 models: i3 MK2, i3 MK2S, and i3 MK2MM. I recommend rotating the E3D all-metal hot-end so its cables are routed directly to the back of the extruder, reducing strain on the cables and providing a clear view of the hot-end if needed. To do this, move the heater element and thermistor to the other side of the hot-end.
