The span of the compartment measures exactly 43 millimeters. A small tweak was made to conserve a minimal amount of plastic material. Included with it is a central piece that easily clicks into place. On the other hand, the longer model boasts an extra 25 millimeters of width added to its frame, allowing it to accommodate larger spools that might not fit within the standard center-piece's confines.
