Prusa i3 improved X ends for brass TR8 / T8 nuts (anti-backlash nuts supported)
thingiverse
With these modified X-ends (compatible with the Prusa i3 improved XZ axis from jkoljo) you can use your favorite TR8 (sometimes called T8) acme lead screws + nuts on your Prusa i3 or RepRap, easily and efficiently! I've made 4 versions of both X-ends. The main differences are: normal TR8 nut / anti-backlash TR8 nut and different ways of mounting the nut. You can mount the nut using M3 screws and nuts, screwing M3 directly into the plastic or even screwing M4 directly into the plastic. Of course, you can use any ~3mm wood screw instead of M3, or ~4mm instead of M4. The inner diameter of the screw holes on the M3 designs is 2.5mm (with exception of the version that uses screws + nuts). The inner diameter of the screw holes on the M4 designs is 3.5mm. Note that there's no M4 version which uses nuts because those nuts would interfere with the TR8 nut itself, whether anti-backlash or not. ##### RECOMMENDATION It's a good idea to print a sample of the top (~20 layers or so) and check if the nut actually fits with the holes. I've found that different resellers and manufacturers can sell nuts which look the same but have small differences in the distance between the screw holes and the size of the holes, making it crucial to double-check your parts before assembly.
