Prusa I3 Ikea Lack Z-Axis Frame Brace

Prusa I3 Ikea Lack Z-Axis Frame Brace

Although I think the Prusa I3 has a decent printing speed and smooth jerk settings, it's still relatively shaky. I noticed some vibrations at the z-axis during a large and fast print job. Here's a simple frame-brace design to help stabilize that. It's easy to remove for printer maintenance. You'll need some wood screws, M3 square nuts (which you might already have on hand), and at least 20mm long M3 allen-screws. Please note that this design is specifically made for my printer/rack setup, so it won't fit if your printer isn't raised by at least 7mm using feet like the ones from thing:2542811 or a similar offset. You can choose how many braces you want to use; I personally use two of them. I printed this design with PETG from 3dpsp.de, which turned out great for processing. It's sturdy, has no adhesion issues, and comes in nice colors at a reasonable price.
