Prusa i3/Hesine M505 (Anet A8 compatible) x Carriage for E3Dv6 (Bowden)

X Carriage for E3Dv6 I needed a new x carriage for my printer, and I decided to switch from the original Anet A8 acrylic frame. Unfortunately, this led to a loss of some Z print area. Since there were already many great carriages available, I chose to design one myself from scratch. Included are three full builds: the main build with fan mount and sensor, a simpler version with only the sensor mount, and just the E3Dv6 mount itself. Currently, I've designed an 18mm sensor mount. However, I plan to release a version for a 12mm sensor as well, but haven't had the time yet. Disclaimer I am not a 3D design expert by any means. This is more of a side project where I can learn and have fun while building something for my printer. There's definitely room for improvement, and I'll work on it when I'm able to. Comments and suggestions from experienced designers are welcome! Fan Duct The current fan duct needs significant improvements. The airflow and angles of the holes need to be redone. While it works, it struggles with cooling fine details. I plan to address this issue in the near future. Belt Holder The back of the carriage has designed holes that can accommodate any belt holder for the Anet A8 (example: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1433295). Printing This print is challenging and requires supports, but make sure none end up inside the fan ducts. It's recommended to use software like Simplify3D to control support placement. Marlin Sensor Offset #define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 38 #define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 3 Note: In these constants, you cannot use floating-point numbers, so I've rounded them. Anet A8 Settings Anet A8 #define RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 179 #define X_MIN_POS 13 Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Clone Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 50% Notes: Make sure there are no supports inside the fan ducts. I used supports, but this has been printed successfully with no supports. How I Designed This CAD I designed this part using OnShape.com.
