Prusa I3 Hall Effect Z endstop mount
pinshape
I'm really struggling with Z calibration on my Prusa I3. To address this issue, I created a Hall-O holder that fits snugly into the tight space available. Since no pre-made solution existed, I took matters into my own hands and designed something from scratch. The magnet is attached to an existing adjustable screw, which provides the necessary clearance for smooth operation. However, you can modify the design to suit your specific needs. The clamp effectively utilizes the limited space between the smooth rod and motor coupler on my machine, allowing for reliable Z height calibration. So far, it's working flawlessly and has significantly improved my Z height consistency compared to relying solely on a micro switch. To replicate this project, I used ABS plastic, but any type of plastic should work equally well. The design was printed using my MendelMax 1.5.
