Prusa I3 Geeetech Pro B fan duct for hotend
thingiverse
I previously used a parasitic fan duct designed specifically for Geeetech's Prusa I3 Pro B but found it leaked a lot of air. Other designs on thingiverse required an additional fan, screws, and more. I decided to create a fan unit that could utilize the existing fan and screws without requiring glue or extra parts, while also redirecting more air to the hot end. This fan duct unit is designed to be telescopic, allowing the duct to adjust its vertical height based on the user's needs. It redirects 50% of airflow directly to the hot end, ensuring that the cold end remains cool enough. To assemble this fan unit, insert the heat sink first, followed by the screws through the metal carriage into the extruder motor, and finally attach the fan (40x40x10). Print Settings: Printer: Geeetech Pro B Prusa I3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 10% Notes: I included supports that break away easily in this design. STL layouts are optimized for printing, so no rotation is necessary. Depending on your printer's calibration, you may need to file down some faces and corners to ensure proper fit. Be cautious not to over-file, as excessive wear can compromise the unit's structural integrity.
