My Prusa's Frame Needed Repair. I Fixed It With A Custom Part. Here's What I Made: I was in trouble when I discovered that the laser-cut text on my Prusa frame had a crack running through it. To hold things together temporarily, I used some duct tape to reinforce the weakened area, but it soon became clear that this was just a temporary solution. I needed something more reliable, so I set out to create a new part. To make it as versatile as possible, I added a few useful features to the design. The first is a loop at the top where you can feed the hotend and bowden wires, preventing them from getting caught or tangled in other parts of the frame. Next, I drilled three holes into the base of the part - perfect for the allen keys that come with your standard Prusa printer. It was then a matter of fitting it onto the cracked area, carefully aligning it with the surrounding structure. The new part successfully stabilizes my 40x6mm frame and will now hold it together more securely than before. The combination of features ensures this part works well, allowing for easy maintenance access to your printer while protecting against wire entanglement issues that often cause frustration.
