Prusa i3 Filament Roller
thingiverse
This is a pulley for Prusa i3. It keeps filament in a neat arc on top of the printer instead of spreading out on the spool and going everywhere. The pulley mounts to the top right tower on my Prusa by HICtop, and can be mirrored for the left tower if desired. Requires: * Both parts * A small finishing nail or RC body clip * A lighter or heat gun First, print both items using your 3D printer. Heat up the plastic at the base of the two triangles with a lighter to bend them slightly outward. This allows the parts to roll smoothly when inserting the nail or body clip. Place the nail through the two holes and pulley assembly. Bend the ends of the nail upward/downward so it won't slide out. To install, unscrew the top tower bolt on your Prusa i3 printer. Slide the bolt through the hole in the bottom plate of the pulley assembly. Screw the bolt back into place. Pull your filament over the pulley to secure it. Printer Settings: * Printer: Prusa i3 * Rafts: None * Supports: None * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 100% Notes: This part can be printed in PLA or any other plastic material.
