\\n\\n\\n------CHECK BELOW FOR FIRMWARE INSTRUCTIONS------\\\\\\\\\\n\\n\\n\\nThis carriage was designed specifically to fit the pre-assembled Mk8 dual extruder by Geeetech, which can be found on their website as well as eBay and Amazon. Although it was created with my HICTOP Prusa i3 with aluminum frame in mind, I believe it should work with most Prusas, provided you're using metal 8 mm linear bearings that attach with stock M4x8 Bolts. The carriage bolts directly to the HICTOP belt holder (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1003604) with a pair of M3x16 bolts and M3 nuts.\nThe fans assembled as shown work effectively for both extrusion cooling and keeping heat off 3D printed parts, but Ryanrose has created a decent fan mount for this build that you can check out here:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1924231\nUpdate:\nAfter a while with my fans off and the heat on, the front of the carriage started to deform slightly (this is using PLA). I solved this by wrapping a zip tie around the top-back of the extruders, down the sides, and across the underside of the carriage. This distributes weight more evenly and alleviates pressure in the front.\n\\n\\n\\n\\n\\n ---------- FIRMWARE NOTE ---------- \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \nWarning!!! You may BRICK your control board if flashed incorrectly. I strongly advise reading up on the process before attempting anything.\nI've received A LOT of requests for the firmware to accompany this x-carriage, so here it is.\nCHECK THE DOWNLOADS SECTION FOR SUPPLIED FIRMWARE.ZIP FILE\nMust use Arduino program 1.0.6 to compile and flash the firmware. Select Arduino Mega 2560 as the board.\n\\n\\n ---------- FIRMWARE NOTE ---------- \ \\nPrint Settings:\nPrinter Brand: RepRap\nPrinter: Hictop Prusa i3\nRafts: Doesn't Matter\nSupports: No\nResolution: .2\nInfill: 25%\nNotes: I printed this file with Cura, but when I tried to print on Repetier, I kept getting an error. Just FYI.\nI opted for rafts so the large flat surface was easy to remove from my bed. You can opt to skip this. Print should not need any support and could use a wide range of resolutions. I chose .2 for a nice blend of resolution and speed. Infill should be at least 25%, since this part is supporting all the weight of both extruders. I also opted for shells >1 mm in all directions. \nPost-Printing
